Basic Function HF Sinclair is seeking a Financial Analyst in Dallas, TX who will perform advanced and complex financial consolidation, analysis, reporting, forecasting and budgeting for management. Acts as resource and lead position for less experienced personnel. Job Duties Oversees and ensures the accuracy and updating of the Company’s internal financial systems as needed and applicablePerforms advanced and complex financial analysesProvides internal management financial statements, reports, and forecastsMay prepare and submit all required government filings if applicable Identifies key/ critical deliverables and liaises with Business partners and IT partners to streamline and automate the processProvides analysis of operational results, budgeted and actual and may maintain historical dataResearches simple and complex accounting/regulatory agency rules and issues and performs analysis to make recommendations to support management decisionsPerforms, prepares, and reviews various financial projects, analysis, entries and reconciliationsResearches and prepares variance analysis and explanationsCreates and makes presentations to management, including budget and financial presentations Maintains all reporting work papers as needed and in conjunction with Sarbanes OxleyMay assist with final consolidation and close in the assigned systemLead special projects to improve process efficiency and performanceSupervises and mentors team member(s) to ensure development, improved engagement and productivity.Work closely with senior management across HFC to drive systems and processes around detailed reporting, data visualization and key performance indicators for effective and timely decision makingActs as a technical resource and lead position for less experienced personnel Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their supervisor, as determined from time to time at their sole and complete discretion. Experience Three to eight years of analytical experience in petrochemical or related fields is required. Education Level A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or finance is required. Preferred Education A Master’s Degree or CPA is preferred. Required Skills Advanced ability to perform complex financial analysis. Advanced knowledge of Microsoft products and experience with financial software. A broad understanding of accounting practices and procedures is required. Advanced ability to perform complex accounting analysis, communicate with all levels of management and manage projects and assignments with extreme accuracy and efficiency. Proficient with spreadsheet, database and word processing applications; good analytical, problem solving and decision making skills; knowledge of banking industry; detail oriented; ability to work independently; advanced understanding of financial risk and mitigation. Ability to effectively communicate with others, both in written and verbal communication. Intermediate reading and writing skills; and ability to perform intermediate to advanced mathematical calculations. Preferred Skills: PowerPoint experience, some experience in area of specialty is preferred. Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility 1-2 direct reports. Work Conditions Office based with up to 10% travel by land and air required. Subject to all weather, including out-of-doors and varying road conditions.
