POSITION OVERVIEWThe Development Team Support Specialist is a key development team member responsible for providing comprehensive administrative and technical support. This individual will play a critical role in optimizing the efficiency and effectiveness of the team's fundraising efforts, focusing on utilizing Donor Perfect, a donor management software. The Development Team Support Specialist is a member of the Hillcrest Development Team, reporting directly to the Vice President of Development. CORE POSITION RESPONSIBILITIESDonor Perfect Administration:Maintain and update donor records in Donor Perfect, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of donor information.Generate reports, dashboards, and queries to support fundraising campaigns, donor segmentation, and donor data analysis.Provide training and support to team members on effectively using Donor Perfect features and functionalities.Gift Processing and Acknowledgment:Process donations accurately and promptly, ensuring all relevant data is recorded in Donor Perfect.Generate donor acknowledgment letters and receipts, adhering to best practices and personalized communication.Data Analysis and Reporting:Collaborate with the development team to create and analyze reports, trends, and key performance indicators to inform strategic decision-making.Identify opportunities for donor engagement and targeted outreach based on data insights.Event Support:Assist in planning and executing fundraising events, utilizing Donor Perfect or other software to manage guest lists, registrations, and post-event follow-up.Collaboration:Work closely with the development team, finance, and other relevant departments to ensure seamless integration of donor data across various systems.Collaborate with IT or external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Donor Perfect. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSTo be considered for the Development Team Support Specialist position, the following qualifications are essential.The position will be based in our Kansas City, Kansas office location.The position will require frequent, daily travel in the Kansas City Metro area.Candidate should be able to demonstrate expert efficiency in Donor Perfect, or similar web-based donor management software.Successful experience working with development and fundraising teams in a nonprofit or ministry setting.Candidate will be required to provide proof of a valid driver’s license, reliable personal transportation, and adequate personal vehicle insurance.Candidate offers will be contingent on a successful background, reference, and motor vehicle checks.

TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONSApplicants must possess knowledge of or demonstrate experience in similar and transferable technical qualifications outlined below.Windows Computers – Familiar and comfortable using Windows based computers.Microsoft Suite of Products – Demonstrated ability to utilize software and web-based applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Donor Perfect – Expert experience working in web-based donor management software, Donor Perfect, or similar web-based donor management software.Social media and other web-based products – Proficiency utilizing web-based products such as Facebook, Instagram, X (formerly Twitter), Canva, Constant Contact, and WordPress.

PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONSThese qualifications collectively contribute to the successful leadership of volunteer programs and the management of staff in a directorial role.Communication – Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey goals and expectations.Organizational Skills – Strong organizational abilities to coordinate projects and deliver solutions effectively.Problem-Solving Skills – Capability to address challenges and find solutions in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment.Team Collaboration – A collaborative approach to working with diverse teams and stakeholders.Passion for the Cause – Genuine passion and belief in Hillcrest’s mission to solve homelessness in our community.Nonprofit Experience – Familiarity with the nonprofit sector working with donors and development teams.Interpersonal Skills – Strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with volunteers, staff, and community partners.Cultural Competence – Sensitivity and understanding of diverse cultures and backgrounds among volunteers, staff, clients, residents, and community partners.Education – Relevant education or certifications in donor management, nonprofit or ministry leadership, or a related field.POSITION SALARY & BENEFITSThis is a new, full-time non-exempt position at Hillcrest.The base salary for the position is ($41,600-$51,600 annually), with potential for adjustments based on individual skills, education, and qualifications.Paid training and onboarding.Comprehensive health, dental, vision, life insurance, and long-term disability insurance available on the first day of month following hire. Staff member base premiums are 100% covered by the organization.Retirement savings plan (403b) with 3% company match after one year of continuous employment.
