Supplier Quality Engineer - Sensors

Expected compensation: $70.00 - $74.00 per hour

HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company hire a Supplier Quality Engineer - Sensors to improve supplier quality processes such as assessments, supplier management, part approval, and corrective actions.

We're looking for someone with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field. You have experience with sensor development, test and manufacturing processes (e.g. lidar, camera, radar, etc.). The ideal candidate will be entrepreneurial, driven, energetic, detailed and team oriented.

As a Supplier Quality Engineer - Sensors, You'll

Assess the capability of potential suppliers. Assess the manufacturability of new product designs and assist the engineering team/suppliers with improving and developing manufacturing processes. Review prototype and production part quality document submissions from suppliers, and provide feedback. Issue corrective action requests to suppliers and provide support with their resolution. Provide support to Manufacturing, Quality, and Vehicle Engineering regarding analysis and disposition of suspect supplier material. Drive continuous improvement throughout the supply base using quality and lean manufacturing tools.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field (Master's degree is preferred)Experience with sensor (lidar, camera, radar, etc.) development, test and manufacturing processesExperience with the manufacture of complex electromechanical and optomechanical assembliesExperience in manufacturing processes (e.g. PCB, PCBA, wire harnesses, stamping, and mechanical assembly)Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and TolerancingExperience using problem solving techniques (e.g. Six-Sigma, 8-Discipline, Pareto Charts, Regression Analysis, ANOVA, DOE, Fish Bone Analysis, Red-X, Is/Is Not)Experience using quality analysis and control tools (e.g. Process Flow Diagrams, Process FMEAs, Process Control Plans, SPC, MSA, Process Capability)Fully literate in Microsoft computer applications such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications

4+ years of experience in quality, supplier quality, or manufacturing in one of the following industries:Automotive, aviation, computer, or medical deviceExperience creating and improving quality systemsWorking knowledge of quality systems (e.g. ISO 9000 and IATF 16949)Certifications such as ASQ, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Six Sigma Black Belt
