Summary

The main function of a Systems Engineer is to perform a wide variety of installation, configuration and upgrading of servers and related hardware and software in a LAN, WAN and stand-alone environment, providing investigation, diagnostic testing and repair/resolution of system, hardware, software and infrastructure.

Job Responsibilities

Complete configuration, installation and support of equipment to the specifications of the business Maintain software applications and operating systems through regular maintenance Maintain configuration and support documentation Manage assigned projects and program components to deliver services in accordance with established objectives Supervise the administration of systems and servers to ensure availability of services to authorized users Maintain multi-site network operations, software applications, operating systems through regular maintenance Troubleshoot malfunctions of hardware, software applications and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services

Candidate Requirements

Years of Experience Required: 5-7 overall years of experience in the field. Degrees or certifications required: Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. Disqualifiers: N/A Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain someone who can absolutely execute commands needed. Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of work and meeting deadlines.

Support data centers through central applications. This will be a tier-3 role – expect to run into database commands, scripting and execution resource to manage their critical platform maintenance application. Key projects: This role will contribute to operational (80%) and development (20%). CMNS is main support they control. Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm: The role will consist of 10% meetings, 40% heads down, and remaining is 50% teamwork (tier-2 team, other resources, learning and doing).
