I. Purpose of PositionSTL IT Specialist plans, directs, and manages the daily operations of plants IT department maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and their configurations to ensure the needs of the business and users are met. II. Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:Good communication and analytical skillsAbility to work in team.Experience of 5+ years working with IT Infrastructure.Experience on managing an SAP based IT environment. Working knowledge of SAP is a plus.Diploma or Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in Software Engineering and Computer Science or equivalent experience.III. Primary DutiesMeet with department heads, managers, supervisors, vendors, and others, to solicit cooperation and resolve problems.Review project plans to plan and coordinate project activity; conferring with staff, users, and management to establish requirements for new systems or modifications.Consult with users, management, vendors, and technicians to assess computing needs and system requirements.Confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support. for 200+ user environment.Monitor facility technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades.Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.Manage all IT equipment and applications inside plant.Prepare and review operational reports or project progress reports.Manage IT infrastructure and maintain smooth IT operations of plant.Manage active components like core switch, L2 switch, router and data center.Troubleshoot active components and resolve technical issues of infrastructure, working with vendors if needed.Working with IT policy of organization and adhere to IT standards and rules.Manage various enterprise applications and understand user requirement, capture in document & design reports and do UAT and perform go live.Manage barcode system and printers and handheld devices.Flexible hours for incident response allocation.IV. Physical Characteristics and Working ConditionsNormal manufacturing working condition with occasional exposure to dust, heat, cold, noise etc. but not to the extent of being disagreeable.Moderate physical effort consisting of lifting or moving material weighing over 25 pounds.
