📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities

Job Summary:We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director to join our growing firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and implementing strategic communications programs, PR and content campaigns, as well as a proven track record of building and maintaining strong client relationships.

As a Director at Hirsch Leatherwood, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of communication professionals, serving multiple clients across different industries. You will work closely with clients to understand their business objectives and develop strategies that align with their goals.

Directors will produce a variety of work across brand and reputation management, brand positioning, corporate content, thought leadership, media & analyst relations, and landscape research. Directors will also be expected to help our clients use these materials, which entails meetings and project management.

In addition to managing client relationships, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the team, including staffing, training, and mentoring. You will also work closely with the senior leadership team to develop and implement company-wide strategies and initiatives ranging from new business to culture.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the media landscape, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to think creatively and strategically. They will be a strong leader with excellent interpersonal skills and a proven track record of delivering results.

Duties/Responsibilities: Responsible for driving success of client communications programs Lead day-to-day management of both the client and our internal client teamDevelop and implement strategies and plans for the team to achieve the client's goalsSpearhead creation and review of memos, pitch decks, thought leadership pieces, and all manner of corporate content, from white papers and case studies to social media and blog postsBe an expert voice in crafting and editing executive communications assets, and in how to relate to senior executivesLead media relations strategy with oversight on associate-level media relations work, including press release drafts, articles and pitching reporters and securing media placements Partner with leadership team on new business projects for new clients and/or identify areas of growth for current clientAssist in the development of Hirsch Leatherwood's weekly newsletter, Out of Scope, by keeping up with industry news and trends Required Skills/Abilities:Excellent interpersonal skills.Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong communications skills, especially the ability to write lucidly in a style appropriate to the work at hand. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Strong supervisory and leadership skills.Ability and interest to think both creatively and strategicallyAbility to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.Ability to help design PR campaigns, measure results and propose adjustments as neededAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.An exacting work ethic that does not neglect the importance of detail. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software. Education and Experience:Bachelor's degree in Journalism, PR, Marketing or related field like English, political science, history, or the sciences. 6+ years' experience working in client services, PR, marketing, media, journalism or related fields.Experience in client services or the poise to learn such work quickly.
