A Brief Overview

According to established procedures performs a variety of Environmental Services duties including but not limited to housekeeping, floor care, mail and linen rooms, and waste management.

What You Will Do

Interact with coworkers, patients and visitors with compassion, courtesy and a professional customer focused mannerComplete tasks as per the position schedule or as assigned by supervisor/managerPrepare solutions according to manufacturer recommendationsClean assigned area by sanitizing furniture, surfaces, and equipment with germicidal cleaning solutionPrepare discharged beds for the next patient promptly and effectively, recording the completion time properlyDemonstrate the ability to report discharge activity appropriately via the computerDust and damp mops floors, vacuums carpets, and arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning the areaReplenish supplies such as: paper towels, toilet tissue and soaps prior to the dispenser being emptySafely operate various types of electrical cleaning equipment such as vacuums, auto-scrubbers, burnishers, buffing machines and carpet extractorsPerform cleaning in specialty areas such as Surgical, ICU, Labor and Delivery and Nursery using proper cleaning solutions and techniques as prescribed by departmental proceduresPerform other duties as assigned

Education Qualifications

High School Diploma Or equivalent RequiredRequired

Experience Qualifications

1-3 years Environmental or housekeeping experience Preferred1-3 years Healthcare experience Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
