Mental Health Clinician
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Residential Counselor is responsible for providing direct individual and group substance disorder (SUD) counseling to Hope House Addiction Services, Inc. residents. The Residential Counselor will consistently act in accordance with Hope House Standards of Care, including maintaining professional ethics, boundaries, and client confidentiality while working with the tools of Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Medication Assisted Treatment.
Responsibilities & Essential FunctionsEnsure that all services are delivered in compliance with agency standards, regulatory and contractual requirementsProvide supportive and empathic individual counselingMaintain effective documentation and record-keeping systems, including but not limited to: biopsychosocial assessment, treatment planning, reassessment, progress notes, case management notes, consent forms, data collection, and aftercare and discharge planning and follow-upMaintain current working knowledge of referral sources such as housing, medical, mental health, MAT, outpatient counseling, dental, legal, self-help groups, and others to provide comprehensive services to the program clientsFacilitate groups as assigned and complete required documentationevaluation and development, problem solving and planningOther duties as assigned
Qualifications/Skills RequiredPrevious substance use disorder counseling experiencePrevious experience in a community social action program, SUD treatment program, mental health or other similar and related organizationExcellent time management and workflow prioritizationSelf-starter who can work collaboratively or independentlyDemonstrated ability to work successfully in multi-cultural settings with diverse client populationsBi-lingual / Bi-cultural is a plusStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a collaborative, fast-paced environmentProficiency with MS Office SuiteEducational RequirementsAssociate degree or LADC-1 RequiredBachelor degree preferredJob Type: Full-time
