Company DescriptionHorizons Hampton Roads, Inc is a nonprofit organization based in the Hampton Roads, Virginia Metropolitan Area. Since 1999, we have been providing academic, cultural, and recreational enrichment programs to foster student potential and prepare youth for success in post-secondary education and careers. Our signature summer program serves students in grades K-8; and this summer, we will offer a work-readiness program for our high school students serving as volunteer and paid interns.
Role DescriptionJoin our team as a Youth Program Development Specialist! We're seeking a dynamic individual to spearhead the creation of our Summer Youth Micro-Internship Program. This part-time hybrid role (25-30 hrs/week through June or July) offers the perfect blend of in-person and remote work.Responsibilities include reaching out to businesses, both over the phone and in person, to discuss program design and how their involvement can enhance youth development. Collaboration with our Education Director is key as you support this and additional administrative tasks in preparation for our Summer Program launch on June 25th.Ideal candidates possess strong communication skills, a passion for youth development, and availability during some business hours, Monday-Friday, with flexibility for additional hours. QualificationsProgram Coordination/ Management skillsSelf-Starter/ Highest ethical standards neededExcellent organizational skills and w/ Microsoft SuiteStrong communication and interpersonal skillsBachelor's degree preferred; must have 3 or more years experience in program coordinationMust pass background checks, and have a clear DMV record
Payrate: $22-25/hr based on experience; plus mileage at .625/mile
