📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Job Summary: The CAD Designer uses 3D modeling software to create product drawings and provides engineering support to internal customers in sales and operations. Primary Job Duties:Design manufacturing drawings using 3D modeling software based off customer designs, drawings or specifications.Create Bill of Materials and Machine Routers for fabricated and assembled products.Assist and coordinate with engineers, sales, production planning and manufacturing.Provide general engineering support for internal customers using a help ticket system.Identify, recommend, and/or draft product design improvements. Support new product development and design.Provide engineering expertise for company goals and projects.Oversee and/or perform product qualification and performance testing.Position may include other duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor and/or management.Primary Competencies:Proficient with 3D modeling software and proper industry drawing conventions, preferably Autodesk Inventor and/or AutoCad.Experienced in the use of Microsoft Office, video meetings and ERPs.Ability to work well with cross-functional teams and collaborate in a positive manner.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Self-motivated, attention to detail and mechanically inclined.Proactive critical thinker with strong ability to research and find solutions.Qualifications:Associate’s degree in Engineering/Drafting or equivalent experience.One to two years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; knowledge of pipes, valves and fittings preferredAbility to meet physical requirements of the job, including:Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally, twist, bend, stoop and kneel.Ability to safely navigate a manufacturing environment.Culture:Actively work to create strong communication and a healthy working environmentCommunicate in a positive manner with all employeesRespectfully listen to concerns and ideas brought to your attentionSupport and participate in company functions
