📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
We're recruiting for an employer who provides mobility and transportation solutions across the United States and internationally, with a large team dedicated to safe, reliable, and innovative transportation services.
The Vice President, Safety is responsible for establishing a safety-sensitive culture, developing safety policies, ensuring compliance with relevant standards, and implementing training programs to reduce accidents, injuries, and claims enterprise-wide.
Key responsibilities include:Developing and maintaining safety policies and proceduresManaging a team of Regional Safety Directors to ensure compliance with company policies and regulationsDeveloping and implementing driver selection and training programs, and advising on recruitmentLeading safety and training functions for property startupsOverseeing contracts and programs related to safety, such as LytxResearching and developing programs for screening, training, and monitoring driver performanceDeveloping programs for workers' compensation, substance abuse policies, background checks, and OSHA complianceLeading internal and external safety auditsManaging the accident and injury RMIS portalDeveloping and tracking Key Performance IndicatorsAdvising on risk financing, including insurance coverage
QualificationsExtensive experience in large, matrixed environmentsProven managerial and leadership skills to provide direction, guidance, and coachingDemonstrated expertise in developing, implementing, and evaluating leading-edge Transportation Safety Training programs and policiesStrong knowledge of regulations and legislation governing standards for health and safety in the workplaceSignificant executive-level experience in Transportation Safety Education and Training, providing Safety leadership nationwideProficient in Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to analyze safety and financial dataKnowledgeable of FTA, DOT, and OSHA standardsTravel requirement outside of the Chicago Metro Area 75%
The compensation for this role includes base salary, bonus and SERP.
