📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Purpose/Function of Position: Provide advocacy services for survivors of sexual violence. Duties and Responsibilities:· Full-time during business hours with flexibility, allowing for evenings and weekends due to 24-hour response duties.· Provide direct services to survivors of sexual violence in the form of advocacy in accordance with the Center’s policies and mission. · Maintain assigned caseload. · Document all services provided for, with or on behalf of clients· Staff the 24-hour on-call Sexual Assault hotline as assigned.· Provide advocacy on behalf of victims through hospital accompaniment for sexual assault exams. Must be able to respond to area hospitals within 45 minutes of receiving a call.· Abide by confidentiality policy at all times. · Report any knowledge or suspicion of child abuse and/or neglect· On-call duty and travel is required· Attend and complete required training.· Other duties as assigned by the Client Service Manager and/or Executive Director Qualifications:· Bachelor's Degree or experience in social services or related field. · Knowledge of sexual assault and advocacy issues· Knowledge of crisis intervention techniques· Basic Computer Skills· Other Skills include the ability to work with sexual assault survivors· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.· Must be able to work with various people, including clients and their families, professionals in law enforcement, medicine, education, and agency employees.· Must be able to drive to meetings, hospitals, courts, police stations, social service agencies, and other locations to represent the Center and provide services to victims of sexual assault.· Must be non-judgmental, non-prejudicial, and accepting attitude toward other people regardless of race, ethnicity, sexuality, age, or appearance. · Subject to a Clear Texas Criminal History & DFPS Abuse & Neglect Check, Sex Offender Registry Check · Bending, stooping, reaching, and other movements required in dealing with children. Lifting of office materials (up to 20 lbs.)
