A Social Media Content Strategist is responsible for leading a brand’s content strategy, approach and process on social & digital channels. This team member plays a key role in the strategic development of social and digital media campaigns, offering counsel to clients and colleagues, as well as supervising team members.
Qualifications Required:B.A. in Marketing, Public Relations or otherwise relevant course of studyFour (4) to six (6) years of experience managing social channels for clients/brands, developing social content plans and digital strategies, and managing social/digital media campaignsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Proficiency with social media management and social listening/analytics platforms (e.g. Sprout Social, NetBase, Brandwatch, Hootsuite, etc.).Experience managing clients, providing recommendations, project updates, and constructively evaluating briefs.Deep Experience developing creative content strategies for both owned channels and paid media campaignsExperience coaching and mentoring junior team membersWorking Knowledge of Paid Social & Influencer Marketing
Essential Job Functions & Responsibilities: Foster meaningful working relationships with Sr.-level client contactsAccommodate and anticipate client needs; make appropriate recommendations to clientsRespond to requests for information from clients in a timely mannerSet KPIs, establish BenchmarksCreate insight-informed actionable roadmaps to guide monthly content calendarsWrite and present thorough, constructive Creative BriefsFlag new social media tactics and proactively identify brand-right opportunitiesAssess day-to-day content with sound strategic judgement, providing clear feedback and/or approvalsDraft shot lists for photo and video shootsSupport VP on development of brand strategy and annual tactical plansDirectly supervise Community Managers and Social Media Coordinators, managing resources and deadlines, thoroughly reviewing outputDrive effective implementation of multiple social media programs/campaignsDelegate appropriate responsibilities to social and digital media team members for executionDeliver high qualify results on-time and on-budgetAnticipate issuesMake recommendations for ways to meet clients’ needsProvide analysis to clients of program resultsRecognize and seek opportunities to grow clients’ social/digital programs/business, including PR clients who have yet to scope the digital team for a standalone projectBuild and maintain relationships with social media contacts and influencers on behalf of the agency and clientsDemonstrate an interest in the long-range health of the agencyRepresent the agency in professional associations; develop new professional contacts through participation in outside organizationsParticipate in agency brainstorm sessions for client programsActively participate in agency committees or departments as designated/askedParticipate in agency projects and events Ability to:o Understand the intricacies of established and emerging social channelso Understand the clients’ business and relevant industry trends, and use the information to collaboratively develop creative and strategic social media marketing planso Train and mentor junior staffo Effectively delegate work among department team memberso Travel to client and event locations; meet with clients at their office locations/headquartersDemonstrate solid writing, editing, presentation and interpersonal communication skillsShow integrity and good judgment when working with colleagues and clientsDeal constructively with client and personnel situations
In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, the Company believes the target range of base compensation for this role is $70K- 90K. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
