Lab Ops Project Manager - Foster City, CA

• Pay rate: $65.00 - $73.00 per hour

The Lab Ops Project Manager is responsible for supervising projects related to the acquisition, setup, and validation of new analytical tools, equipment, and software within the laboratory setting. This role entails collaborating with diverse project teams comprised of experts from metrology, validation, quality control, analytical, quality assurance, and facilities management to ensure the efficient execution of laboratory-based initiatives. Moreover, the position may involve spearheading process enhancements aimed at optimizing laboratory functionalities.

Key Responsibilities:Oversee laboratory operations projects encompassing the procurement and installation of new analytical tools, equipment, software, relocations, and process enhancements.Liaise closely with Quality Control (QC) and Analytical Development and Operations (ADO) personnel to identify laboratory requirements and user specifications.Ensure prompt procurement of necessary resources by sourcing and evaluating quotations, managing Work Orders (WOs) and Purchase Orders (POs), and monitoring shipping and delivery progress.Coordinate demonstrations of new laboratory systems as required.Collaborate with Facilities Operations to strategize site planning and readiness for instrument installations, involving site assessments and communication of engineering and utility needs.Partner with validation team members throughout the qualification process for Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) systems.Review documentation related to system implementations, encompassing installation prerequisites, protocols, procedures, work instructions, and guidelines.Generate essential project documentation, such as Microsoft Project timelines, project charters, Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), Teams communications, status update emails, PowerPoint presentations, and lessons learned reports.Effectively communicate project requirements, objectives, and timelines through weekly project and team meetings.Contribute to significant project decisions.Deliver concise project summaries and progress updates to large audiences via PowerPoint presentations and verbal communication.Coordinate meetings with vendors and the Vendor Service Team as necessary.Apply knowledge of current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) principles where relevant.
