Hello! We are I'RAISE, a non-profit organization in New York City. We focus on providing mental health advocacy/services, and academic enrichment program at underserved NYC schools!

• *Our Afterschool Program is currently looking for few volunteer instructors, if you are interested in gaining public school classroom teaching experience. Very short process fingerprint clearance required, and you do not have to pay!**

Volunteer Title Music Instructor [singing!]

Location Brooklyn, New York

Program Afterschool Program

Hours 4 pm to 6 pm ET

Days 2 to 3 days on a weekday

Start Date As soon as possible

As a Music Instructor Volunteer, you will work with our children (pre-k to 5th grade), and you will be teaching and leading music/singing classes and workshops, and helping to build a positive and inclusive fun learning environment.

Music Instructor Volunteer Responsibilities

Teaching new songs to the students and helping them to memorize themEvaluating the performance of each student and providing feedback to help them improve their skillsConducting rehearsals to ensure that they are prepared for performancesHelp students improve their vocal technique by providing individualized instruction on breathing, diction, tone production, and posturePreparing weekly lesson plans that include topics such as music theory, vocal technique, and repertoire selectionProviding individual instruction to students who need help learning material or improving their singing technique

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years old1+ years of experience in teaching music class (singing!)2+ years of music industry or music field experience! Perhaps as a singer, or being in a choir.Able to commit to a regular schedule of teaching hours 2 to 3 days per week, from 4 pm to 6 pm ETFingerprint clearance required, but process will take less than a week, and cost is covered!
