Sr. Engineer, IT Asset Management (Software Asset Management)

This role will be part of a team of information technology professionals responsible for designing and managing the system used to manage hardware and software assets, overseeing asset quality control, and developing process and architectural improvements. This position requires technical proficiency, the ability to translate technical and business needs into action, an eager attitude, professionalism, and solid communication skills.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain a deep understanding of the software asset lifecycle, IT Asset Management policies, SAM procedures, the data model and functionality of the CMDB as it relates to software asset management tools within ServiceNowReporting and Analytics: Develop sustainable and ad-hoc reporting in various platforms to address immediate questions from management and to provide ongoing management and governance tools. Needs to be data and metrics drivenBuild, maintain, and support programs designed to keep an accurate inventory of software and license assets throughout the enterprise from procurement to retirementIdentify opportunities for improvement around accessibility and usability of SAM data and drive those improvements Prepare reports for use by ICE management and by external vendors/auditorsHighly focused on software/license compliance, working to ensure our top vendors remain audit-readyDevelop and maintain documentation related to asset management policies, standards and practices for effective asset life-cycle managementProvide training and support to users and stakeholders as it relates to the SAM process and toolsServe as a point of contact for the SAM process(es) and integrations

Knowledge And Experience

4+ years of ServiceNow IT Asset Management experience, focused largely on software asset management.3+ years’ experience with SAM Pro1-2 years of SAM experience with AWS or Azure workloads and/or containersAdvanced data analysis and reporting skills on ServiceNow platform and in other related toolsUnderstands the ServiceNow tables used to support SAM operations (discovery, counting, reconciliation, etc)Able to develop work plans based on team goalsAbility to be self-directed in accomplishing team goals; proactively taking ownership of issues, communicating as appropriate. As needed, develop solutions independently or collaborativelyStrong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to prepare and give presentationsAbility to multitask, work independently on multiple projects and capable of leading large/complex projectsAbility to perform well under pressureAbility to create diagrams, business process, workflow and/or entity relationship diagrams

Preferred

Managed and/or participated in vendor auditsBachelor’s degree in engineering, technology, science or related fieldBasic programming/scripting skillsExpertise with business intelligence tools such as TableauExpertise in Excel formulas, data analysts, and reporting

Schedule

This role offers work from home flexibility of up to 2 days per week.
