SALARY RANGE
The expected hourly rate range is $24.00 - $27.00 and subject to change at any time at the discretion of the Company.
LOCATION
This is a hybrid role and candidates must be able to easily commute to the Alpharetta, GA office.
Position Summary / Objective
The Actuarial Intern will be responsible for working on key projects supporting different facets of the Actuarial department. This opportunity will provide experience in pricing and reporting, working directly with Actuarial team members and handling projects independently.
The expected dates for the internship program are May 13th - August 19th.
Position Responsibilities Including
Perform assigned duties under the direction of an experienced actuary to gain knowledge and experience in the insurance industryBecome an integral member of the Pricing team by performing complex analysis, summarizing results and providing recommendationsUpgrade reports and scorecards by converting them to next gen platformsEnhance existing processes by identifying opportunities for improvement, designing solutions and implementing them using various tools like, but not limited to: scripts, macros, stored procedures, etc
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Including
Strong computer skills with demonstrated high accuracy output. Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office suite, specifically ExcelExperience with programming preferred (VBA, Python, etc)Ability and willingness to take ownership of projectsStrong interpersonal and communication skillsStrong work ethic and high level of personal integrity and accountabilityAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while meeting established deadlinesAbility to demonstrate planning and organizational skills
Education/Experience/Certifications
Required: Enrollment in a four-year degree program (preference for actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or other related field)Required: Passed at least one actuarial exam
