Role DescriptionThis is a full-time position for a Child & Teen Psychotherapist at Illuminate Therapy & Wellness. You will be responsible for providing counseling and therapy services to primarily children and teenagers, but you will also have the opportunity to work with adults; helping them overcome a variety of emotional, behavioral, and mental health challenges. The role involves conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, facilitating therapy sessions, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals as needed. While most of the work will be based out of our office in Palatine, IL, some remote work can occur.
QualificationsLicensed Psychologist (PhD/PsyD/EdD), Counselor, (LPC/LCPC) Social Worker (LSW/LCSW) or Marriage and Family Therapy (AMFT/LMFT) Masters or Doctorate Degree in Mental Health related fieldExperience and Training in Play TherapyKnowledge of child and adolescent developmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsEmpathy and compassionAbility to establish rapport with children, teenagers and their parentsExperience in working with diverse populationsKnowledge of evidence-based therapeutic approachesA valid license to practice psychotherapy in Illinois or ability to obtain one
