📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Very busy and successful manufacturing company needs a Senior Buyer or Procurement / Purchasing Specialist to do product sourcing and purchasing. This is a fast-paced position in a company that mainly buys raw materials and parts for manufacturing of assembled machinery.Your responsibilities will include:Supplier selection, product and component approvals, price and shipment negotiations.Manage multiple simultaneous projects as products transition from development to production.Mange supplier performance to meet project goals.Work in a team to identify purchasing opportunities, develop improvements to the procurement processes.Buy for direct operations – raw materials for manufacturing products, etc. Also, buy for indirect operations – computers, office supplies, parts.REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree plus 2-4 years’ experience in purchasing in a manufacturing environment. Will consider non-degreed people with excellent experience.Experience with buying precision mechanical items, sheet metal, mechanical assemblies, and parts is a must.Should have experience with ERP/MRP systems for manufacturing and resource planning.Should have experience with concepts/certifications in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt, Certified in Planning and Inventory ManagementMust be skilled in analyzing data about customers, shipments, inventory, etc.This job offers a competitive salary and excellent benefits.
