📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
This is an opportunity for a Materials Manager/Purchasing Manager with a machinery/equipment manufacturing company. The focus of the job is to manage and control the material requirements of their manufacturing facility. You will manage buyers and expeditors, and make sure that inventory of materials and parts matches production requirements and schedules. Oversee two buyers with a $15 Million spend.
This job is in SHREVEPORT, Louisiana. I am advertising in your area in order to locate a qualified person who wants to relocate.
Coordinate with the buyers, planners, and suppliers to solve cost, delivery, and quality issues.Manage the materials budget. Support supplier negotiations.Manage buyers and planners to ensure inventory is available to meet manufacturing requirements.Minimize inventory carrying costs.
REQUIREMENTSBachelor’s degree in Business Administration or other related degree.Must have experience working in an assembly-type operation involving raw materials, parts, supplies.Experience working in a manufacturing environment that employes Lean manufacturing principles. Six Sigma experience is desired.Experience with clous QAD Cloud ERP preferred, but will consider other ERP experience such as SAP Hana or Oracle.
