Tooling Design Engineer

RequirementsAssociates/BS Degree in Engineering or other technical field preferred2-5 years’ experience in tooling design preferred CAD experience. (CATIA V5 preferred). Tool & Die or Mold design experience Working knowledge of CNC programming and machining principlesExcellent problem solving skills and proven leadership of cross functional teams in resolving complex technical issues (product and processing equipment).Experience with aerospace component manufacturing highly desirable.In depth knowledge and experience with both high hazard and inert processes is required.Additional requirements:Must have good communication and technical presentation skills.Drive technical excellence by ensuring department meets technical standards.Create CNC programs for machining of forge die tooling. Work closely with tool room personnel to provide instructions and documentation. Evaluate die designs using DEFORM simulation software. Troubleshoot forge tooling problems and participate in new tooling development trials.Champion company values, especially safety.Manage documents & forms, which include purchase orders, routings, ECNs and bill of material to comply with QS proceduresParticipate in Kaizen and Continuous Improvement workshopsWhen required, provide design information and instruct outside vendors in matters of design and build of forge toolingDrive timely and clearly communicated decisions and recommendations.Manage or provide input including cost estimates for technical proposals.Oversee capital project budgets and schedule assigned to Tooling Engineering.Manpower planning and forecasting.Manage resources to support program schedules, balancing needs, priorities and cost
