Reading Teacher

Job SummaryTo assist and support classroom teachers and administrator in providing a balanced and effective reading program for all students. The reading teacher commits to helping students develop strong reading skills and provide targeted inventions to support struggling readers.

Qualification - Bachelor’s degree in Education, or related field.- Minimum of three (3) years successful teaching experience. - Proven experience in teaching reading, preferable in a diverse classroom setting. - Experience in presenting educational training programs with a demonstrated knowledge and practice of Language Arts or reading preferred. - Deep understanding of literacy development and reading instruction strategies. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, students, and families. - Proficiency in using technology for instruction and assessment. - Satisfactory criminal background check and drug screening.- Master’s Degree from an accredited educational institute (preferred).- Valid Florida teaching certification in appropriate area with Reading endorsement (preferred).- Montessori certification (preferred). Responsibilities - Develop and implement effective reading instruction plans with Lead Teacher. - Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel motivated to improve their reading skills. - Assess students’ reading abilities using various tools, methods, and use this data to inform instruction.- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the needs of students with diverse reading abilities. - Communicate with parents and guardians regularly about students’ progress in reading. - Utilize technology and other resources to enhance reading instruction and engagement. - Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with research and best practices in reading education. - Adhere to IHM employee handbook.
