📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities:Lead the development and documentation of component and subsystem requirements for the electrical harness system.Design electrical wiring harness Bill of Materials (BOM) including component selection for connectors, backshells, sleeving, cables, braiding, sealants, boots, transitions, etc.Develop harness components to meet performance and timing targets, collaborating with various teams such as Product Engineering, EMC, Systems Engineering, and more.Determine harness layout for multi-branch harnesses, considering vehicle and branch points.Design harnesses to meet environmental requirements like temperature, shock, vibration, submergence, and exposure to harsh chemicals.Create and design harness drawings using Capital Harness System (CHS) software, specifically in Harness XC, Capital Logic, and Capital Topology.Coordinate harness design execution across multiple products, including schematic maturity, routings, drawings, installations, interconnects, and wiring diagrams.Track harness design progress and present updates to key stakeholders.Ensure harness design and interfaces comply with engineering standards for timely and high-quality delivery.Lead continuous process improvement, best practices implementation, and quality improvement initiatives.Provide technical leadership for issue resolution and offer technical direction for assigned tasks.Train, coach, and mentor team members in areas of expertise.Collaborate with systems engineers to define whole vehicle pin-level interconnects.Additional Responsibilities:Verify circuit breaker settings, contact size, and connections to meet power requirements.Work with digital systems for processing changes, redlining drawings, root cause analysis, and developing preventive measures.Support vehicle builds for wiring support during prototype and production phases.Collaborate with systems engineers on defining whole vehicle pin-level interconnects.
