Facilities Maintenance Technician in Mocksville NC

1st Shift, Mon - Fri, 7a - 3p, weekends, OT as needed

Pay Starts at $24+/hr. Depending on Experience!

Responsibilities

Makes major electrical, mechanical, and construction repairs and installation involving schematics and/or blueprint interpretation.Determines root cause of failures and recommends preventive actions. Communicates through work order system comments/history.Communicates consistently with internal customers regarding status of equipment in shop.Advises supervisor of needs for outside services and works with service representatives on equipment and controls repair and installation. Shows competency in several crafts and performs handyman aspects in all trades. From prints or drawings determine required materials to complete tasks. Work with local purchasing to insure parts are delivered on time.Constructs sketches of mechanical or construction alterations/installations and electrical circuitry.Prepares bills of material on jobs requiring major material use and initiates purchase requisitions.Makes day-to-day work-related decisions. Uses various material handling equipment such as hoists, carts, lifts, fork trucks and hand trucks in moving light to heavy weight material. Uses a variety of lock-out/tag-out devices as required per plant LOTO Plan. Inspect and maintain major systems throughout the facility. This includes but is not limited to: fire suppression systems, alarm systems, HVAC systems, lighting systems. Etc. Occasionally work at heights. Outdoor work is sometimes required.

Qualifications

Ability to troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical, and electronics, Ability to work with concepts when detailed prints, drawings, and specifications are not available.Ability to maintain technical documentation for equipment and processes. Ability to interpret schematics and blueprints. Strong interpersonal skills. Exhibits team work skillsAbility to stand and walk up to 8 hours continuously during a shift.Ability to lift up to 35 lbs alone, or 70 lbs with assistance, repeatedly over an 8 hour shiftAbility to push or pull up to 35 lbs.Ability to see or have vision corrected with glasses/contacts to an evaluated level of no worse than 20/35.

Degree Required & Experience Type

HS Diploma or GED requiredRequired to have a valid State driver’s license3-5 years of facilities maintenance experience. Plumbing, electrical and fabrication skills are desired.Strong verbal and written communication is required.
