Registered Nurse (RN) Unit Supervisor - Freestanding ER

Inova Springfield Healthplex is looking for an experienced Emergency Registered Nurse to join the team as a Unit Supervisor

Schedule: Full-time; day shift (7am - 7pm)

Requires 2 Years Minimum ED Experience

This Free-Standing Emergency Unit services the local community:

Job Summary

Front line leader who is accountable for delivering highly reliable results related to Quality and Best Practices to improve clinical operation of the unitEmbraces; uses and understands the research behind nursing practice and quality tools. Supports unit-based shared governance and decentralized decision-making structures and processes Role model who leads by example in delivering Service Always and in making Patient Experience a priority on unit(s) of responsibilitySeeks every opportunity to meet the unique needs of each person we are privileged to serve-every time, every touchValues and promotes collegial working relationships within and among disciplines Communicates effectively and supports production of an environment of mutual trust

Requirements

2 years plus of ED RN experience Associate Degree RNs within one year of completing their BSN BSN or MSN preferred Completion of revised Charge Nurse Workshop within the first 90 daysPrevious leadership courses preferredBLS required. Specialty certification (as required by unit) within 1 year of hire Strongly prefer current ACLS and PALSLicensed to practice as an RN in the Commonwealth of VirginiaExcellent verbal and written communication skills.Exhibits leadership ability that fosters teamwork and retention.Demonstrates professionalism and ability to remain calm and lead in dynamic and busy situations.Proficiency in computer skills, Microsoft Office and healthcare software required.Strong problem-solving capabilities and prioritization; can serve as a resource and mentor to other clinical staff on the unit.
