📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Position: Associate Network EngineerPay Rate: $45.00-$52.50/hrDuration: 12-month rolling contractLocation: San Francisco, CA - Remote (PST Hours)
Must Haves:· 2+ years of experience with networking and security technologies· 4+ years of overall information technology experience· Bachelor's degree in technology related field or equivalent experienceExperience configuring/troubleshooting of Fortinet, or other layer7 FirewallsExperience using tools to gather data to present to manager/leadership: Splunk, Solarwinds, etc...Verbal and written communication are key attributes to be successful in this positionBe able to business needs and translate technical tasksMust be results orientated, self-motivated and possess high-energyMust be customer-service-minded and tactful when dealing with customers. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with customers, vendors, coworkers, employees and upper management
Highly Recommended:Experience setting up, configuring of enterprise monitoring applications, Splunk, Solarwinds....Business Analyst experience EXTREMELY helpfulFlexibility in work schedule, off-hours for project implementation and 7 by 24 on-call supportSD-WAN/SASEMust be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting prioritiesFamiliar with Layer 3-8 troubleshootingKnowledge of diagnostic networking tools (do you know how to read a packet capture)Flexibility in work schedule, off-hours for project implementation and 7 by 24 on-call supportRelevant industry certification a plus (Aruba/PAN/Fortinet/etc...)Technical writing experience a plusAruba certifications and/or experience highly desirableStrong understanding network security concepts, technologies and trendsExperience in WLAN design, implementation and securityKnowledge in the following areas a plus (load balancing, compression technologies, network software protocols)Some travel may be required
