(6 month contract to hire)
Required Skills and Experience *Bachelor's of Science, geology or geophysics 0-3 years experience; may consider non-degree candidate with more experience (3-5 years) specific to SUE (subsurface utility engineering) and/or utility locating. Associate's degree in electronics would also be considered with an emphasis in field systems/equipment.
Work will involve engineering geophysics which requires a high degree of problem solving and willingness to think outside the box. Attention to detail and aptitude to use sensitive electronic equipment in a field setting are a must.
Troubleshooting and basic understanding of electronic equipment care and maintenance
Clean/safe driving record is required, use of rental or personal vehicle may be required for some field assignments.

Job Description *An engineering company in Colorado Springs is supporting a client for mapping of a utility project in the Springs. This is primarily a field position, expect 95-100% fieldwork. May transition in to 75% if hired on fulltime. The candidate must have the desire to work with multiple geophysical survey methods but primary focus will be utility locating using geophysical methods such as radiofrequency, GPR, and electromagnetics for the current workload. The current contract is for a year with the client and then the consultant with support other clients across the US.
