MUST HAVES: Bachelor Degree in industrial hygiene, toxicology, or relevant scientific disciplineMinimum 3 years of experience as an Industrial Hygienist in a manufacturing environment Understanding of toxicology, chemical exposure hazards, noise, lasers, and radiationExperience with medical surveillance and related programs including respirator medical clearance, audiometry and substance-specific examinations
PLUSES: Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) credentialMaster of Science degree in industrial hygiene or a related scienceProject Management Experience
DAY-TO-DAY: We are looking for an Industrial Hygienist to join at what is set to be the largest battery manufacturing plant in the world once all set and done. With this being a joint venture and greenfield development project, my client is looking for a very organized individual that has experience working in a similar fast-paced manufacturing environment. This person will be expected to be able to work well with others building strong relationships with internal co-workers while collaborating with many different cross functional teams but also able to work independently when needed. This individual should expect to come into a very diverse, fast-moving environment while working well under pressure and in the midst of change to perform the following: Manages programs related to the anticipation, evaluation and control of exposures to chemicals and physical agents in the work environment. Conducts comprehensive industrial hygiene risk assessments to identify employee exposures to potentially hazardous chemicals, physical agents, and processes.Interprets results of evaluations, report conclusions, and evaluate effectiveness of control measures. In cases where exposures are not acceptable, investigate and provide recommendations for controls.Develops written standards and training materials for topics related to industrial hygiene.Communicates information/requirements to leadership and management teamsProvides subject matter expertise to support compliance with the companies Health and Safety standardsProvides leadership to resolve IH-related issues and employee concerns in collaboration with manufacturing teamsAnalyzes data and present results in easily understood format
