Position: Project AccountantDuration: 6-month contract to hireBusiness Unit: WaterLocation: TBD - Manhattan area - have 14 treatment plants on shores of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, Coney island, Staten Island (office they sit in will be walkable to project site)
Insight Global is looking for a Project Accountant to join a wastewater one of our top Construction and Engineering Consulting clients. On a day to day basis, this candidate will be interacting with the inspectors, resident engineers, and managers of project teams to support with cost estimation, calculating part prices, and negotiating detailed estimate breakdown on current and upcoming projects at their wastewater treatment facilities. The project accountant will be responsible for making sure that there are no issues on the financials, and to generate monthly payment reports to submit to their client. This candidate will also be ingrained in the status of all projects to make sure that there are no issues with projected costs or invoices, across all water solutions using excel and acrobat.
Responsibilities:Supporting Resident Engineer/Project Manager with cost estimation and calculate part prices, both in new projects and support projects currently in progressPrepare cost estimates for field condition change orders and review scope and cost estimates for all design-related change orders.Negotiating the Detailed Estimate Breakdown and reviews all subsequent payments.Preparation of monthly payment report to be submitted to the clientAbility to read and interpret contract documents and construction plans to prepare estimates.Experience with the Job Order Contracting process, or other unit price contract.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or closely related field or comparable combination of education and experienceFamiliar with NYCDEP processes and procedures.2-6 years of relevant experience in construction of infrastructure water and wastewater facilities.Strong Excel and Acrobat experienceAbility to provide solution/consultation in specialized areas, make decisions and solve problems.
