SOC Analyst (Night Shift, Career Opportunity)

POSITION: SOC Analyst - Night ShiftLOCATION: Phoenix, Arizona 85053 (4 days onsite per week)PAY/SALARY: $26.00 per hour (~$60k/year)DURATION: 3-Month Contract-To-Hire100% Career Opportunity with growth, promotion and career development offered.SCHEDULE: Sunday - Wednesday from 9pm - 7am (4 days x 10 hours/day)40-44 hours per week - 1.5x pay ($39.00) for any hours worked over 40/week.All shifts are 10 hours long with a 30-minute lunch break.

SUMMARY & OVERVIEW:A top client of Insight Global is looking to hire multiple Security Operations Center Analysts to join their growing Cyber Security team in Phoenix! The SOC Analyst will play a key role in monitoring, detecting, and responding to security incidents to ensure the protection of our organization's critical assets. This role offers an opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, utilizing cutting-edge technologies to safeguard our digital infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for proactive and reactive security and network monitoring of all internal and external network, application, and hardware environments. You will utilize analytical and problem-solving skills to identify, triage, and escalate issues to security engineers, network specialists, system engineers, and local helpdesk technicians. We will train the right individuals who demonstrate a strong aptitude for learning and a desire to gain new skills.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:2+ years of hands-on information technology support experience.1+ year of experience working in a SOC, or similar technical operations role (i.e. Desktop Support, Service Desk, NOC, etc.).Ability to investigate and evaluate network traffic, read and interpret logs and packet captures.Technical proficiency with any SIEM & EDR tools (i.e., CrowdStrike, Rapid7, LogRhythm, Google Chronical, GreyMatter, Tenable, Qualys, etc.).General experience with threat hunting.Hands-on experience with TCP/IP Protocols and network/security applications.The Security Operations Center is staffed 24x7x365.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Monitor security alerts and incidents using SIEM tools.Investigate and respond to security incidents in a timely and effective manner, following established procedures and protocols.Perform threat hunting and investigations into potential threats based on log data and provide the results of the analysis to management.Provide recommendations to improve security postures across multiple environments and platforms including recommendations for design improvements and product offerings.Conduct in-depth analysis of security events to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.Act as first point of contact for incident and problem resolution.Perform initial troubleshooting and data gathering to identify and resolve issues in an efficient manner.Perform regular vulnerability assessments and contribute to the development of mitigation strategies.Maintain detailed logs and updated operational procedure documents.Open and track support tickets with external vendors including telco and network carriers.

Compensation: $26/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
