Senior Underwriter - Builder's Risk

The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of underwriting experience in builder’s risk (inland marine and property will be considered). As a Senior Underwriter, you will play a key role in evaluating risk, assessing exposures, and pricing policies to ensure profitability and sustainable growth while working side-by-side with our technology deployment team through the project lifecycle.    Responsibilities:  Evaluate and underwrite builder’s risk insurance submissions in accordance with company underwriting guidelines and standards.  Analyze construction project details, including scope, location, budget, and timelines, to assess risk factors and determine appropriate coverage and pricing.  Review and analyze loss history, claims data, and other relevant information to make informed underwriting decisions.  Collaborate with brokers, agents, and clients to negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing for new and renewal business.  Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including brokers, agents, clients, and reinsurers.  Provide guidance and support to junior underwriters and assist in their professional development.  Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory developments to identify opportunities and potential risks.  Up to 20% travel. Qualifications:  3-5 years of underwriting experience in builder’s risk, inland marine, or property insurance.  Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex risks and make sound underwriting decisions.  Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships.  A cooperative, team-focused mentality and ability to manage group projects as both lead and contributor.  Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.  Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.  Insurance industry certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARM) are a plus.  Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or related field preferred.    Benefits:  Competitive salary and performance-based incentives.  Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.  Retirement savings plan with employer matching.  Paid time off and holidays.  Professional development opportunities and tuition reimbursement.  Dynamic and collaborative work environment.  Location: This is a hybrid optional role.
