Title: Accessibility Analyst Location: Remote Duration: twelve month + contractCompensation: Between $50 to $57.00 hourly Work Requirements: US Citizen, GC Holders or Authorized to Work in the U.S.

Job Summary: The Senior Accessibility contractor will be responsible for overseeing the accessibility compliance of our property management system. This is an opportunity to ensure the technology is not only accessible but is usable by employees who rely on assistive technology to perform their jobs. This role will partner with Product Owners, User Experience Designers, Product Managers and Engineering Development teams to create inclusive experiences and drive adoption of accessible design thinking principles. The contractor must possess strong tactical knowledge of accessibility standards and practices utilized to achieve compliance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. The successful resource will have a passion for accessibility and an ability to instill empathy and understanding about the importance of accessibility beyond compliance.This is NOT an accessibility testing position. To be successful in this role, the candidate should have experience with reviewing high and low fidelity wireframes and identifying accessibility issues at the design phase. The candidate should have hands on experience with agile development (understanding of user stories, development sprints and agile ceremonies)

Responsible for:Executing accessibility processes set forth by the Senior Director of Accessibility.Auditing the existing application to baseline accessibility compliance.Establishing an on-going compliance monitoring process.Serving as the liaison with 3rd party accessibility vendorLearning the complexities of the system being built and how it is used by property employees to inform accessible solutions.Innovating on ways to scale adoption and integration of accessibility into the property management platform.Partnering with Experience Design and User Research colleagues to ensure we are developing the best user experience for guests with a disability.Working daily with agile product teams to instill accountability for and ownership of accessibility.Writing accessibility specific acceptance criteria (AC) into user storiesEvaluating code to help identify and solution accessibility defects.Conducting full accessibility audits (web and mobile) and packaging results into actionable feedback.Training team on how to test for accessibility and how to use screen readers.Contributing to the development and maintenance of accessibility guidelines, processes, and training.

SkillsMust possess strong working knowledge of WCAG 2.1 Level AA (required)Understand ADA and international accessibility lawsUnderstand and have demonstrated experience in applying accessibility and usability principles that impact users with disabilities in the discovery and design/wireframe stages.Hands on experience with assistive technology devices including screen readers, screen magnification, alternative keyboard inputs, etc. for both desktop and mobile. (Required: intermediate knowledge of at least 2 screen readers)Hands on experience conducting accessibility audits for web and mobile.Ability to provide technical solutions and remediation to cross-functional teams of product owners, development engineers, quality engineers, and designers.Hands on experience with WAI-ARIA and how to implement accessibly.Tactical knowledge of W3C standards-compliant HTML and CSSKnowledge of JavaScript (React JS a plus)Knowledge of accepted accessibility interaction patterns and best practicesBackground in web development, user interface design, user experience, application development a plus.Experience with agile methodologies, JIRA and Confluence.

Any of the following certifications is a plus but not required:IAAP Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC)Web Accessibility Specialist (WAS) Certification
