We design intuitive education technology solutions that enable the development of all learning styles in the classroom and beyond.Designers are empowered to define new interaction paradigms blending the physical and digital touchpoints to benefit both teachers and students for today and tomorrow. You will solve complex problems unique to school and learning experiences and develop holistic product experiences with cross-functional teams.We need someone who’s all about jumping in feet first, building cool stuff, and figuring out how to make interactions so easy that even first-time users could use them and pop with creativity and flair.You will be bridging the gap between design and engineering to make these experiences come to life.Our design team is local to the Bay area, and we work in hybrid-meeting 1-2 times a week in the San Jose office.

Knows their way around complex hardware interaction problems and practice systems thinkingTake broad, conceptual ideas and tinker them into tangible experiences with compelling physical and digital prototypesTake a creative approach to define and develop the best technical directionKnowledgable and curious, able to understand and communicate software and hardware possibilities and limitations clearlyComfortable in ambiguous territory and taking the initiative to experiment and explore

Requirements

At least 4 years of design or engineering/technical experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experienceHas a portfolio showcasing their thought processes and design development (demonstrate ideas physically / digitally)Experience developing hardware prototypes with Arduino or Raspberry PiExperience working with design software and tools to integrateProgramming experience with Javascript, Python, and/or other languages with an emphasis on the user interfaceTechnical understanding of electronics GPIO interfacing...Experience working with 3D parts and assemblies, mechanical aptitude
