Project Engineer

Job Summary:Design and engineer control systems. Perform software programming based on project plans, specifications, and other contract documents. Ensure documentation is accurate and complete. Provide project management on projects as required, interfacing directly to our customers. Work with installers, sub-contractors and suppliers to complete jobs successfully and on time. Duties and Responsibilities:Control system design responsibilityControl programming and graphic developmentManage the start up & commissioning of control systems by working with controls technicians.Visit sites for light-duty testing of control systems with controls techniciansMaintain backups of customer databases.Set up and configuration of PC Workstations, user interfaces, data servers, IP Networking devices, protocols, routers, switches, mass storage devices and hubs.Confirms proper network performance.Coordinate startup services: Work with customer’s IT Department to coordinate network drops, IP addresses, and monitoring tools.Work with equipment vendors to coordinate communication protocols and any requirements to integrate with their systems.Provides coaching, mentoring, training and technical assistance to Jr. Project Engineers, Controls Technicians & Electrical Installers. Provides technical assistance to subcontractors. Ensures that delegated tasks are done accurately, on-time, and within scope of the contract.Effectively communicates the status of projects to management as requiredRevise drawings and software as necessaryProduce as-build documentationDevelop and conduct Owner trainingPerform project management tasksResponsible for material ordering/coordinationThird party Protocol Integration coordination and executionManage time to complete assignments on time and within budgetSends warranty letter to customer upon substantial completion of project and ensures proper execution of warrantySupports the sales department by creating project designs in AutoCAD to provide to the consulting engineers.

Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of computer networking systemsDDC controls Programming skills (Reliable controls preferred)Strong Analytical skillsStrong interactive and communication skillsManagement of technicians, installers and subcontractorsStrong troubleshooting skillsExperience with electronics and basic electrical circuitsKnowledge of DDC Control Theory and ApplicationsAbility to work independently and unsupervisedACAD & MS Visio skills

Credentials and Experience:Engineering degree or equivalent combination of education and experienceComputer programming experienceHVAC and/or Mechanical system experienceDirect Digital Controls: 5 years (Preferred)Mechanical Knowledge: 5 years (Preferred)
