📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Our exclusive client is a leading producer of Augmented Reality Technology for military applications, supporting the superiority of American Fighter Pilots.
They have raised more than $80m in VC funding, and the product already has significant commercial and military interest.
As a Field Engineer, you will take a critical role in the development of next-generation augmented reality systems. You will become part of a team exploring new concepts through design and fast iterative prototyping.
This position involves working in the field where customer aircraft are refitted, maintained and/or flown. This role will provide crucial support to engineering teams by assisting in various technical and administrative tasks. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
Our ideal candidate has a strong fundamental engineering background, prototyping skills, 3D CAD capability, and experience supporting the design and manufacturing of aerospace or enterprise technology products. Everyone in the company is expected to perform a variety of tasks as they are needed.
What You'll Do:Provide on-site technical support for installation, configuration, and maintenanceTroubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise in the fieldConduct regular maintenance on equipment and produces daily reportsMaintain and document procedures and practices for technical integration into aircraftInstall and commission hardware, software, and other engineering componentsDesign, automate, and run electrical testingWorks alongside engineers to build and test electronics and software in aircraftConducts experiments under the guidance of engineersFacilitate communication between engineering, program management, and external stakeholdersAdhere to safety and FOD protocols and guidelines during on-site activitiesOwn and operate inventory management systems for hardware components
What You'll Bring:Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field2+ years of relevant experience in engineering, engineering technology, design technology, or a related fieldAbility to understand engineering documents such as policy manuals, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manualsExperience writing routine reports and correspondenceExperience or familiarity with electro-mechanical assembly of hardware and/or cablingGeneral knowledge of Aviation or Aircraft Operations preferredFamiliarity with debugging electronicsFamiliarity with LinuxExperience with benchtop lab equipmentTechnical troubleshooting and on-site supportInstallation and commissioningMust be able to commute or move to Orlando, FLThis position may require a security clearance. Must have US Citizenship
