Our client is seeking a sharp Director of Catering and Conference Services to support an esteemed independent property in College Park. Our client’s portfolio of hotels is luxury approaching luxury full service and the ideal candidate for this role is a strong leader who can collaborate closely with various departments, while ensuring catering and banquet strategies align with overall marketing and sales objectives.

This is a fantastic position for a creative and driven performer with Director-level leadership experience within the catering/conference services space. Director of Catering and Conference Services Requirements- To qualify, you should have the following:Minimum 4 years’ experience as a Director or Associate Director of Catering in a comparable hotel environmentDemonstrated leadership experience overseeing a team of 4 or more individualsExceptional hands-on leadership skills, collaborating with and mentoring a talented team within a fast-paced, high-pressure environments while maintaining a focus on guest satisfactionutilizing relevant software and systems such as Outlook, Word, Excel, and hospitality management platforms

Director of Catering and Conference Services Responsibilities- The duties for the role are as follows:the catering and conference services team to establish a premier sales force within the DC Metro Marketa cohesive team environment through mature observation, hands-on teaching, and collaborating with internal departments to champion excellence in banquet/catering operations and, therefore client satisfactionpartnerships with the local community, VIPs and key university stakeholders to drive revenue and enhance the hotel's reputation through participation in industry events/networking functions, cultivating new business relationships and staying informed on industry trendsand exemplify service and performance standards, ensuring exceptional delivery for all banquet and catering eventspursue and qualify new sales opportunities, negotiate terms within established guidelines, and generate comprehensive sales reports/forecasts, contributing to strategic planning efforts
