2024 Summer Internship - Environmental Technician
PSI, an Intertek company, is searching for an Environmental Technician Intern to join our Building & Constructionteam in our Pittsburgh, PA office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile environmental career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry!
The Building & Construction team provides assurance, testing, inspection, and certification services and building science solutions to deliver Total Quality Assurance to the built environment. The team offers the environmental, engineering and construction industry with a full suite of capabilities both in the lab and on site.
What you’ll do:
Asbestos/Lead Based Paint/Mold SurveysAsbestos/Lead Based Paint/Mold Abatement MonitoringAsbestos/Lead Based Paint/Mold Clearance SamplingAssist with Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)Assist with Phase II/Subsurface InvestigationsAssist with Remedial Action Site Activities
What it takes to be successful in this role
High School Diploma / GED requiredCurrent student in Environmental Science requiredNo experience required - We will train!Knowledge of regulatory requirements a plus!Must be able to read and understand scope of work / work plansMust be able to work off shifts and overtimeMust be able to travel overnight – up to 50% of the time as necessary (required)Valid Driver’s License and reliable driving record (required)
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift, move, push, and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in soundAbility to kneel and squat occasionallyAbility to walk and stand for long periods of timeAbility to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)Ability to climb occasionally
