We are looking to hire a SR Java Software Engineer to join our growing team!

Summary

Responsible for working on highly technical, complex software projects in order to develop technical solutions and services which are cost effective while meeting the business needs of the Company. You’ll lead activities throughout the entire software development life cycle providing consultative advice and direction to development team. Your work will make an impact, the project you work on support our 911 call routing system.

What You’ll Do

Design, develop and unit test software enhancements per requirementsDebug and maintain existing software functionalityResearch, lead, participate and document design reviews and decisionsParticipate in project planning and estimationParticipate in agile software development ceremoniesKeep up-to-date on new products, development tools, industry trends, and methodologiesParticipate in business meetings to identify and understand the company's goals and objectives in order to develop software that will meet the company's current and future business needsAnalyze and review functional and performance requirements to support design architecture, providing alternative solutions as necessaryPerform troubleshooting and issue resolution throughout project ensuring issues are brought to resolution and on-going communication with project team and Executive Management is maintainedCoach and mentor project team members to ensure thorough understanding of project tasks and company goals Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, MIS or related field requiredEquivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirement

Experience

Minimum five years increasingly responsible programming experience using JavaMinimum four years experience writing detailed program designs for medium to large sized projects preferred Project management experience preferredTeam player

Technical

Knowledge of: Unix, LinuxStrong Java programming skills, preferably on backend servicesSpring frameworkMaven/Git/Artifactory/Jenkins/AnsibleEclipse IDEMission-critical applications / five 9's reliabilityWeb development (Spring MVC, Servlets, Javascript, HTML) Web based protocols and services (HTTP, SOAP, REST)SIP (Session Initiation Protocol)JDBC/SQLApp servers (Tomcat/OCCAS)Experience with developing applications tailored for Public Cloud platforms strongly preferredAnalytical skills, software design, programming at scale, testing, and general development skillsExperience with SQL and relational databasesExperience with the following or a similar technology stack: Java, Apache, MySQLExperience working on agile software development teams

Starting salary for this position is expected between $107,000 and $130,000 and will be commensurate with experience.
