Job Description

Primary Function

You’ll play a key role on the Manufacturing Software Engineering team to maintain the manufacture of surgical robots. You will develop the manufacturing and diagnostic software that assures the performance and safety of robot subsystems. The position will require close collaboration with product development teams, systems analysts, electrical equipment engineers, manufacturing engineers, supplier engineers, quality engineers, and suppliers to build a test strategy and develop software.

Minimum Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechatronics Engineering, Electronical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalentA minimum 3+ years of experience in hardware-oriented software developmentExperience with design and development of Windows PC or Web user interfacesExpert in object-oriented PythonExperience developing robotic or electro-mechanical systems, including control systems and mechatronicsGood hands-on experience with prototyping, cabling, assembling, and integrating test fixturesDemonstrated technical leadershipEntrepreneurial spiritDrives projects to completionStrong problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communications skillsIntellectually curious and passionateHigh emotional intelligence and solid people skillsExperience with electronic lab equipmentBasic use of electrical and mechanical tools

Full stack frontend & backend web application developmentWeb technologies such as RESTful APIs, JSON, socketsFamiliarity with Matlab, SQL databaseExperience with Linux and shell scriptingExperience with different communication protocols such as RS232, CAN, EthernetAutomated product or software testingExperience in medical device manufacturing or regulated engineering environmentExperience working in a product manufacturing environmentExperience with version control tools (git preferred)Experience with Atlassian toolset (i.e. JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)Travel: 10%

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1:$139,400 - $200,600

Base Salary Range Region 2: $118,500 - $170,500

Travel: 10% of the time
