Production Manager

SUMMARY:Manages and coordinates production activities to support IRIS USA’s annual net sales volume. Maintains departmental budgets and operating procedures. Initiates and implements process improvements. Controls costs, enforces Company policies, develops subordinates and maintains a safe work environment.Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Hire, manage, train, and evaluate Production department personnel using performance management and corrective action tools to ensure effective productivity Motivate, lead, and communicate effectively department goals and objectives to teamDevelop and maintain a good working relationship with all departments within the IRIS organization.Maintain a smooth production operation while maintaining a safe working environment.Monitor and maintain the 5’s housekeeping program.Work closely with production schedulers to make sure that all the required products are scheduled to run at the right time, and all the required materials are available.Monitor the inventory of all production supplies i.e., molded and imported parts boxes, pigments and resin.Work closely with Process Engineers, Raw Materials, and Mold Maintenance to assure that all machines and molds are running efficiently at all times.Monitor the day-to-day results of added value and molding cost to make sure that all the shift supervisors are working to achieve the departmental and company goals.Work closely with the Quality Control Department to maintain the highest quality standards for all of our products.Spend at least 60 percent of time on the production floor working with managers, supervisors, cell leads and production employees. Spends some of this time working hands on.Qualifications:Required Education and Experience:Associate degree in business management or a technical and related field.Two (2) years of supervisory experience in manufacturing.Knowledge of:Previous responsibilities should have included scheduling, technical, raw materials, inventory management, training and safety.Skill in:Excellent oral, written and presentation skills.Strong interpersonal skills.Solid strategic planning, communication, and presentation skills.Leadership skills with the ability to work with and lead a team.Good computer skills. Previous experience with word, excel, access, power point.
