Buyer Summary of the RoleResponsibilitiesMust maintain 100% commitment to safety policies and procedures.Places & tracks purchase orders, ensuring on time delivery from our supplier partners.Actively monitors and dispositions slow-moving stock.Collaborates with both sales and operations to review inventory levels and manage system parameters proactively.Works to further automate the procurement process. (automated purchase orders & EDI)Review and remedy discrepant purchase orders, paid invoices, non-compliant goods received.Develops and implements recommendations that drive continuous improvement in inventory and customer service levels.Negotiates and abates potential price increases from suppliers.Initiates and leads resourcing activities that drive cost reductions. Skills and AbilitiesAdvanced computer skills, including MS Office SuiteAbility to communicate and relate to people at all levels of the organization.Heightened sense of urgency and responsiveness.Informed decision-making ability that considers the facts, goals, constraints, and risks.Outstanding data analysis skills and interpretation abilities.Experience utilizing ERP systems to drive reporting and analytics.Problem solving experience in reducing total costs and improving processes.Positive attitude, sound judgment, and excellent time-management skills.Demonstrated ability to reduce costs through the development of new and existing suppliers.Proven experience with facilitating collaboration, actively engaging in and making joint decisions, and sharing best practices. QualificationsBachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business or related field preferred, but not required. Will accept high school diploma with 8+ years of sourcing, procurement, or purchasing experience in lieu of degreeSolid understanding of supply chain concepts and supplier analysis methods..Experience working with MRP/ERP systems.Must be a highly skilled user of Excel.Highly organized with a resolute sense of urgency.Experience conducting analyses and developing and implementing recommendations/action plans based on those analyses.Self-directed with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.Successful application of problem-solving methodology and innovative solution development.
