📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
A global industrial technology Company in the Aerospace, Defense & Marine division is hiring an entry-level Cost Accountant / FP&A (Financial Planning and Analysis).
We are searching for an entry-level FP&A Analyst to join the operational Plant Controlling team The role will involve supporting the financials of El Cajon, and the candidate is expected to assist the FP&A and Controller in producing timely and accurate financial reports. This position will be based in El Cajon, California, in the United States."At the moment, we do not offer relocation packages."
Responsibilities
This job involves managing one or more accounting systems, such as the General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable. Daily tasks include processing billings and invoicing, posting credit card invoice payments, and uploading government-related invoices into portals such as Exostar and WAFF. The role requires working with plant personnel, Customer Service, and the Financial Shared Services Center to resolve customer invoice issues as necessary.
Other duties include preparing daily/weekly labor reconciliation, conducting operating expenses variance analysis, and supporting Fixed Asset capitalization and inventory reporting. Additionally, this position provides assistance to FP&A regarding inventory costing and supports cycle count process activities, as well as participating actively in Physical inventory activities.
This job also involves validating interface data between Legacy System (Macola) and SAP, and fixing errors in SAP. Other responsibilities include providing support during month-end processes, preparing journal entries, maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts, collecting data, and allocating costs as needed. Finally, this role is responsible for identifying potential areas for improvement and supporting the implementation of initiatives to drive continuous optimization.
QualificationsHaving experience in SAP is beneficial but not essential.The Manufacturing Plant uses MACOLA ERP in conjunction with SAP.Knowledge of MACOLA is a plus.Manufacturing experience is required.Demonstrating problem-solving abilities with an emphasis on teamwork is necessary.Very good quantitative, analytical, and communication skills are essential.Attention to detail is important.Following established procedures, policies, and processes to accomplish tasks is mandatory.Fluent English writing skills are required. Government accounting experience is preferred.
