π Role Overview & Responsibilities
The Director of Development performs as a member of the development team reporting directly to the Executive Director of Development. This individual is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive major gift program including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of prospective donors.
This individual will develop, grow and manage a portfolio of prospects within the institutions database. The Director of Development will work closely with faculty and staff, both within Indianapolis campus service area and statewide to promote the acquisition of philanthropic support. A successful Director of Development works efficiently managing time, develops strategies to obtain solicitations, and creates donor relationships that establish gifts to meet the strategic goals of the institution.

Major Gift Responsibilities: responsible for the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of a portfolio of approximatley 100-150 individual and corporate giving prospects and suspects.the needs and interests of major gift donors and to create sustainable meaningful relationships with major gift donorsand convey the strategic goals and mission of Ivy Tech Community College and the Indianapolis campus/service areaand propose measurable goals and strategies for solicitation of major gifts, including:ongoing relationships with prospect/donorspecific purpose and level of giftthose to be involved in cultivation and subsequent solicitationthat solicitations are carried out.a minimum of 20 moves per month by participating in all aspects of the gift cycle including:contacts with potential leadership and major gift donorsappropriate cultivation strategies, including working with volunteers and board memberspotential donors in an appropriate and timely fashion toward solicitation and closuresolicitations when appropriatestewardship contacts with donors; adhere to the highest ethical standards; demonstrate empathetic disposition.as required, in Development team efforts including cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies for key prospects and internal planning efforts.documentation in CRM to include action items, strategies and progress tracking. Work closely with other gift officers to insure effective coordination of effort with their programs and to reinforce the prospect relationship continuum.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSDegree or equivalent combination of training and experience.least three (3) years of successful fundraising or related experience in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting constituents.interpersonal skills including the ability to conduct public speaking engagements without instructionwritten communications and research abilitiesself-motivated and organized ability to understand the needs and interests of leadership and donors in order to develop relationships between them and the collegein all aspects of education and a dedication to promoting the college's fundraising priorities through developing excellent relationships with faculty, trustees, volunteers, and the development teaminnovative ability in fundraising process to develop connections with unrelated prospects
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSdegree or CFRE/equivalentdemonstrate ability to promote an inclusive environment that reflects the broad diversity and backgrounds represented by our students and employees and which every individual feels respected and valued.
Starting Salary Range: $65,000 - $70,000 annually (based on experience)
