Summary

Under general direction, the Operations Support performs a variety of job responsibilities which will include operating a tractor/trailer to transport and deliver fertilizer, chemicals, and other hazardous materials to internal and external customers from the Grand Forks Distribution Center, vehicle maintenance, equipment and facility maintenance work in addition to assisting with daily warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities

Operates tractor/trailer combinations, and forklifts to transport hazardous materials to internal & external customers. This includes over-the-road driving to various locations. Maintains DOT, DMV, OSHA and Hazmat standards with regard to transport and placarding of hazardous materials. Comply with all company and customer safety requirements. Performs general maintenance on trucks which may include, but is not limited to, replenishing fuel, checking and replenishing oil levels, checking brakes, washing trucks, and taking trucks to the shop for scheduled service maintenance. Maintaining accurate and up-to-date driver's logs and inspection sheets. Performs varied responsibilities such as assisting with special projects, attending training sessions, providing back-up when needed, and other work-related duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Relevant Experience

1+ years related experience and/or training Ability to do basic math.Ability to accurately and safely operate heavy equipment such as a semi-truck and trailer. Ability to use a computer, including Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook – or mobile app. Ability to learn and manipulate company software. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing with management, other team members, and customers.Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, road signs, maps, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Must be willing to follow all applicable safety procedures.

Required Certifications

Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL)Hazardous Materials EndorsementTanker Endorsement preferredForklift Certification is greatly preferred.
