📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Jackson Soil and Water Conservation District is seeking a new team member to join our forestry program field staff. We are hiring a Forest Conservation Technician to support post-wildfire restoration projects and wildfire resilience projects in Jackson County, Oregon. The position has a starting salary range of $49,025 - $63,733, and includes a generous health insurance stipend, paid vacation and sick leave, and a professional development and training budget. The position is full time, scheduled to start June 1, 2024, and run for a term of three years. Jackson Soil and Water Conservation District is based in Central Point, Oregon, conveniently located to all Rogue Valley towns and outdoor recreation amenities. This position supports the planning, monitoring, implementation, data management, and operations for a variety of forest restoration projects. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team member with excellent communication skills, comfortable working in the field independently, or with partner organizations, or with other JSWCD staff. The ideal candidate will have experience writing forest treatment prescriptions, forest management plans, and collecting and analyzing forest mensuration data.
