Equipment/ Field Service Engineer II
📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Position Overview:As an Equipment/ Field Service Engineer, you will provide maintenance, troubleshooting, and support of electro-mechanical/mechanical, electronic semiconductor test equipment dedicated primarily to one customer site. You will work closely with customers, suppliers, the factory, and installation facilities to ensure the seamless operation of our equipment. The role requires strong technical proficiency, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance/Troubleshooting:Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM) tasks according to defined schedules.Assist in significant factory PMs as required.Conduct weekly maintenance based on data analysis.Respond to alarms and error codes promptly and effectively.Troubleshoot basic transport issues and resolve them efficiently.Maintain equipment according to supplier-certified standards.Utilize complex Response Flow Checklists (RFC) and schematics for troubleshooting.Participate in the development of RFCs and implement advanced troubleshooting methods.Act as an expert in implementing equipment improvements.
Documentation/Systems:Write PM specifications and RFCs accurately.Update PM checklists under expert supervision.Enter equipment data into the database correctly and generate status reports.Interpret data from the database to identify and solve problems.
Customer and Supplier Interface:Collaborate with customers, suppliers, and installation facilities to install new equipment.Interact effectively with customers, suppliers, and factory support groups to address issues and provide support and ongoing development suggestions.FSE Specific Requirements:The position requires strong mechanical aptitude and experience servicing electro-mechanical, mechanical, and electronic semiconductor test equipment.Requires knowledge and experience of Venturi vacuum and pneumatic equipmentPerform tool preventive maintenance according to published processes.Attend on-site meetings as required.Conduct weekly sustaining maintenance tasks.Respond to alarms and error codes promptly.Troubleshoot and resolve tool-down situations efficiently.Generate necessary equipment reports and request return material authorization (RMA) as needed.Install and process failed parts, including changes in thermal interface material (TIM) and tool conversions.Provide on-call support as required.Assist with tool de-installs/re-installs and new tool installations.
Field Service Engineer Skills and Expectations:Possess Level III certification qualifications or equivalent experience.Demonstrate proficiency in equipment-specific tasks and factory-specific service scopes of work.Apply rigorous safety procedures and suggest safety improvements.Display comprehensive knowledge of equipment software, controls, and mechanical systems.Utilize measurement tools and essential hand tools effectively.Operate optical measurement equipment and perform automatic system alignments.Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.Display independence in running equipment and troubleshooting.
