Position Overview
They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Accounting to lead their accounting department. The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, and compliance. This role demands a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities and a proven track record in real estate accounting.
Responsibilities Include
Oversee and manage a team of 5 individualsAct as the primary advisor to the CFO, with clear pathways for advancement to more senior executive roles within the organization. Take charge of managing the family's personal finances, encompassing cash flow management, real estate and private equity investments, aircraft holdings, loans, and trust distributions.Ensure timely completion of all annual audits and maintain compliance with loan agreements.Oversee cash flow closely and execute treasury functions as necessary.Manage day-to-day workflows and deliverables, including preparing projects when necessary and reviewing work.Review annual insurance renewals across all properties and coordinate lease reviews with the legal department.Furnish books, records, financial data, and projections to the tax group for estimated tax payments, tax planning, and tax return preparation.Assist in addressing inquiries from the tax department and review adjusting journal entries for book to tax disparities. • Address client inquiries, resolve accounting and tax-related issues, and devise solutions for financial obstacles.
Qualifications
CPA required Minimum of 5 years of public accounting experience and a total of 10 years of experience in accountingReal estate experience is a must, family office experience is a plus Strong understanding of financial reporting, budgeting, cash management, and tax compliance.
