📋 Role Overview & Responsibilities
Job Title: Tax Manager - Corporate Tax Compliance and ProvisionsLocation: New York, NY
Responsibilities:Manage the preparation and review of federal and state corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all applicable tax laws and regulations.Oversee the calculation and documentation of quarterly and annual tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 (FAS 109), including the analysis of deferred tax assets and liabilities.Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to support tax planning initiatives, resolve tax-related issues, and respond to inquiries from tax authorities.Stay informed of changes in tax laws and regulations that may impact the company's tax position, and communicate implications to relevant stakeholders.Lead tax planning and optimization efforts to minimize tax liabilities and maximize cash flow, including identifying opportunities for credits, deductions, and incentives.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to provide tax guidance and support for business initiatives and transactions.Develop and implement tax policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency in tax reporting and compliance.Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff members, fostering their professional development and growth within the organization.
Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA designation preferred.5+ years of experience in corporate tax compliance and provisions, preferably in a public accounting firm or corporate tax department.Strong knowledge of federal, state, and international tax laws and regulations, with a focus on corporate taxation.Experience with tax provision software (e.g., Onesource Tax Provision, Corptax) and ERP systems; proficiency in Microsoft Excel.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex tax issues and provide strategic recommendations.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in tax reporting and compliance.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
