Are you a seasoned professional with a knack for numbers, a strategic mindset, and a deep understanding of the construction industry? We are seeking a Permanent Estimating Manager to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in ensuring the financial success of our commercial projects, and you will have the opportunity to shape and influence our company's growth trajectory.
Responsibilities
As our Estimating Manager, you will be at the heart of our construction operations. Your responsibilities will include
Leading the estimating team in the preparation of budget estimates, cost plans, and detailed tender submissions. Managing all aspects of the estimating process from project inception to completion. Collaborating with project managers, architects, and engineers to understand project requirements and develop cost-effective solutions. Evaluating and analyzing subcontractor proposals to ensure they meet project specifications and budget requirements. Providing strategic insights and recommendations to senior management on cost trends, potential risks, and opportunities for cost savings. Developing and maintaining relationships with key suppliers and subcontractors to ensure competitive pricing. Implementing and maintaining estimating software and systems to improve efficiency and accuracy. Providing ongoing training and mentorship to junior estimating staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate who is not only experienced but also passionate, innovative, and ready to hit the ground running. The qualifications for this role include
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role within the construction industry, specifically with commercial projects. Proven expertise in construction estimating, including a deep understanding of construction methods, materials, and legal regulations. Strong proficiency in estimating software and other relevant construction management technologies. Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills, with a keen eye for detail. Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of developing and motivating high-performing teams. Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. A degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field is highly desirable.
