Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of heavy civil construction projects from planning to implementation, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget. Supervise and manage a team of subcontractors, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of quality. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations and building codes. Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and other technical documents. Manage change orders, ensuring that any changes to the project scope are properly documented and approved. Implement and manage quality control processes, ensuring that all work meets or exceeds the required standards. Communicate effectively with project stakeholders, including clients, engineers, and project managers. Resolve any issues or disputes that arise during the construction process. Plan and manage site logistics, ensuring that all materials and equipment are available when needed. Conduct regular project meetings, providing updates on project progress and addressing any issues or concerns.
Qualifications
Minimum 7 years of experience within the heavy civil construction industry. Proven experience in managing subcontractors and overseeing large construction projects. Strong knowledge of construction management processes, means and methods. Proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and other technical documents. Strong understanding of construction safety regulations and compliance. Proven experience in managing change orders and quality control processes. Excellent project management and site management skills. Strong knowledge of building codes and regulations. Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong leadership and team management skills. A degree in construction management or a related field is preferred.
